Disney has already announced its ad-supported subscription tier for Disney+ (along with a price increase) — and Netflix should follow suit early next year. It has been known for some time that Netflix will use a subscription level with advertisements. Now the source code of the Netflix app contains the first clues found it been. It’s not about pricing or general features, of course – but one thing seems clear: Netflix won’t offer downloads in the ad-supported subscription tier, so users won’t be able to watch movies or series without an internet connection. Netflix can, of course, still make changes as development progresses.
